    Pizza!

Nice looking pizza! I have yet to do my first pizza attempt, but soon, very soon. I got one of those Lodge CI pizza pans from Amazon (through TVWBB of course!) and I got my fire bricks at my local building supply/brick yard. Two splits and one full brick and they cost me $3.00. I wrap them in...

    A smoke wood question

We have three Bradford pear trees in our yard, one of which is leaning into the house and on the roof. They are "City trees" and we've put a call to have them trimmed. They may come today, they may come next year! So here's my question. The Bradford pear is a non-fruiting pear, but could I use...

    Beer Butt Chicken

I don't have a WSM (yet), so I do mine on my kettle and I use apple chips. I recently got some cherry chips and I'm gonna use them on my next BBC. A touch of hickory was also very tasty!

    newb questions---love this site!

I never even knew there was such a chimney! What a good idea! Bryan, Mike, and every man and woman who have served in the armed forces, thank you for your service to our country. I don't think we can say it enough, you are the best! And as a life member of the Navy League: Go Navy!!!

    newb questions---love this site!

Go with the Weber! I've not seen any lately that appear to have the same quality. The bottom finally dropped out of my Kingsford that my best friend gave me many years ago when he went to a gasser. I so love that chimney! The hubster sort of fixed it with wire and told me not to count on it...

    Grilldaddy???

I posted here (somewhere) a while back about my grilldaddy, which at the time I stated that I really like it. Since then I've tried it on my charcoal kettle and find that it doesn't work as well as I had hoped. But, on the gasser it's simply the bomb IMHO! Maybe it's the rectangular, flat grate...

Battle I: Eggs Presentation to Judges

Oh man, I am sooo glad I'm not judging this epic, spectacular contest! I couldn't pick a definitive winner if my firstborn pup's life depended on it! OK, toss in the little guy and I still can't pick! Both teams totally rock!!!

    Men who can't grill?

Yeah Jennifer, I hear ya! My neighbors think I'm paranoid because I have a fully stocked earthquake kit in my backyard and I always have a spare tank of propane for the gasser and my Coleman stove, and lots and lots of briqs for my kettle. I tell them I am not paranoid, just ready and they...

    Battle Eggs

Can't wait to see the photos! I'm just guessing that the competion will be very close and I have no doubt that the judges have their work cut out for them. Best wishes to both teams and may the best team win!

    Hot dogs galore

Gee Russ, that's a bunch of dogs! In our youth sailing program, I am frequently involved in grilling mass quantities of hot dogs for ravenous kids coming off the water. I'm with Paul; you won't get many more than 25-30 on the grill at a time. Good thing it's just dogs as all you really want to...

    Question RE: Wooden Handles

This may not help much, but my kettle is a 1981 and I'm pretty sure it has teak handles. They are a bit weatherbeaten, but they're still intact. And they look pretty good all oiled up! I'm not sure even the mighty oak would last that long having been left out in the yard for all these years...
