I I snugged it up and haven't noticed any movement when I remove it from the ring.

My largest snake was on my Ranch kettle when I first got it, I did a brisket after doing a lot of research on WKC from others doing the snake. With the top vent about half open and the vent under the lit coals barely cracked it held a steady 250deg grate temp the whole time.

I have a Platinum Kettle setup for my Roti also as others have said convenance plus the table really helps.

I assembled my 26" kettle in my living room so as not to scratch it up (my first new grill!) then being a guy I decided to take it down the steps in one fel swoop, yep stumbled a bit coming down and there went the lid right on the gravel driveway! :mad: Never did call Weber tho. :(

I believe they were a promotional thing the grate that came in one of mine was different, I sold it though so I can't remember what it was again. I added the ash pan kits as mine came as silvers.

Congrats on your Jr! I put Grill Grates in mine and love them! R/C Planebuyer is another option as others have said, I hadn't thought of Gen 1000 stuff. The guy that I got mine from had shortend the burner tubes and made new flavorizer bars out of stainless steel.
