Jeff, I agree that it is a Gen 1. I see the opening for the flame check on the control panel, but I didn't think that was an option on the Genesis 1 ?

Welcome Robert, Wish I was in Florida right now, it's supposed to get below zero here tonight. In regards to the information on the underside of the control panel, If you take it off and turn it over, I have had some success in reading the faded serial number by shining a black light on it...
