    Newbs 1st brisket

Amber, that is a GREAT looking brisket! Really nice job on that. I didn't even attempt a brisket until I had been using the smoker for about a year; I psyched myself out about it. You just jumped in and did it, and did it good.

    KBB on Sale @ Lowes

I was still a buyer of K-Pro at Costco even with the $18.49 price.I like it quite a bit. It burns better and about half the ash of KBB.

    KBB on Sale @ Lowes

The Kingsford Pro 2-pack at my local Costo was on sale for $18.49; up about $2.00 from last year.

    Giving T-Mobile a try

We use Google Fi for our cell phone service, which uses a variety of carriers depending on where you are at the moment, T-Mobile being one of them. For our area, we are usually routed through T-Mobile, and it works great. Nice deal with the internet package too.

    Mixing/prep bowls: Duralex vs Luminarc

I have a good set of Pyrex mixing bowls, and a SS set I bought from Costco several years ago. I hardly ever use the Pyrex bowls. Have you considered just a good set of SS bowls? Relatively light, easy to clean, multifunctional, etc.

That looks like the right hat for the job. Looks good!

    Ice Storm

Be careful out there everyone. The storm that just finished here in Utah is heading up to the lakes area. It dropped 21 inches at our house.

    Empanadas and donuts

I am a sucker for empanadas, and those look fantastic.

    Catheter Cardiac Ablation Yesterday

Speedy recovery! If they were able to ablate the right things, you should feel a lot better. Sometimes those arrhythmias are stubborn little things.

Is it OK to close the top vent some?

That's about what I would say too. Close it maybe a touch or two, but no more than half.

Costco pork loin $4 off each

Thanks, good timing too. I just used our last pork loin out of the freezer today.

    Anyone air frying?

It is hard to beat the cast iron reheat thing. For me, I might call it a tie with air fryer. But nothing replaces my cast iron.

    Anyone air frying?

I may be crazy (probably), but I think reheating pizza in the air fryer is probably better than when it was originally cooked. Same with french fries. Especially those fries from a certain well known McFood place.

    WSM 14.5 Spatchcock Chicken

Looks fantastic! The WSM can literally be a set-it-and-forget-it cooker. There have been more than a few times I have started a cook in the morning, and then actually forgot about it until later in the day. Funny enough, those are some of my best cooks.

First time cooking pork butt on WSM

+1 on the higher cook temp at 275F or so if you can do it. Great results in less cooking time.

    Anyone air frying?

I was very skeptical of air fryers until we were at a neighbor's party a year ago, and they made a some really great appetizers using theirs. I bought this one, and I'm now a believer. I've made steaks, pizzas, brussel sprouts, fish, garlic toast, shrimp, mushrooms, cinnamon rolls, etc, etc...

New (to me) Zero-Sugar BBQ Sauce

Sorry for the late reply. As noted, the ingredient list isn't too crazy. Straight from the jar, it does seem to me that something is just a little bit off. Not really in a bad way, just different. Hard to quantify that. I have used it on a few pulled pork wraps this week, and it seems to marry...
