    Friday Night Pizza

That pizza looks ridiculously good! What's the deal with Tillamook? I see so many people posting about it and singing their praises, but I've never tried it and usually roll with store-brand cheeses.

    15 lb Prime Brisket

That's one beautiful brisket! I know you from the WSM group on Facebook! I merely lurk and rarely comment, because the comment threads get out of hand on there when grown adults start some ridiculous asinine arguments LOL. Anyway, you are always throwing down some ridiculously awesome grub.

Rib Meat and Cooking Beans Together?

Thanks, guys! The lima beans turned out great! I used some of the meat from the breast plate. The smoke flavor didn't overwhelm them in the least. I was going to wait until today to make the beans, but I had some extra unexpected guests and so I quick-soaked the beans and got 'em going.

Rib Meat and Cooking Beans Together?

I did a quick search and couldn't find much for my specific question. I'm smoking spare ribs (and a bird + a pork butt) on one of my little bitty drum cookers today. An idea popped into my head the other day, thinking about this (I swear food is on my mind 24/7). I'm going to trim up the spare...

    My Maw Maw's Southern Cornbread

My grandmother passed away over seventeen years ago and was one heck of a cook. I don't know how in the world she did it: cooking for eight sons and two daughters daily. Only recently have I been privy to any of her recipes. The one I'm hooked on is her cornbread. As far as I'm concerned, this...

Whats your favorite Flank Steak recipe?

Occasionally I'll marinate my flank steaks with oil, salt, pepper, garlic, cilantro, a dash of chili powder, lime juice and a smidgen of Worcesershire sauce if I'm making fajitas. However, most of the time I'm pretty basic with them. There's this rub company out of Texas called "2 Gringo's...

Did Kingsford change their formula for KBB again?

I haven't noticed anything different from KBB, which is my go-to for 90% of my cooks. The only time I hear crackling/see sparks is when I use cheap lump. I have noticed white specs in some of the bags I've bought, though! I've noticed on both the big kettle and WSM groups on Facebook that a...

What is your favorite chicken part to grill?

Thighs all day. When I was first introduced to BBQ, they became my go-to for poultry, especially with the local country style grocery store featuring them at .59/.79 cents/lb. often. Whenever I make chicken fajitas, I love taking half-shredded chicken breast, and half-chicken thighs, cooked up...

    Ga$oline Pri¢es

That’s awesome, Jim. Welp — time to drive up to Wisconsin from VA for gas. 🤪 I last filled up a couple of days ago and it was like $1.95 and has steadily been around that here.

    Smoked bologna chub!

I thought the title of the thread was, "Smoked bologna club" and I was about to say, "Yeah! Alright! That's the kind of club I want to be in." When I'm talking about barbecue with anybody new, and hear the topic "What's your favorite meat to smoke?" I give them a top three: "Brisket, ribs...

    Homemade Bacon Gravy

Nice post + recipe @Rich Dahl! I'm more of a hot sausage gravy kind of guy, but in the last couple of months, twice I've had a hankering for gravy and biscuits for a 'breakfast for dinner' type deal, and when I head to the fridge there's no sausage and I've made it virtually the same as your...

Can you use the wood from a tree you cut down to smoke with?

I pruned the apple tree in my front yard back in January/February 2017 and have been using it since without issue. I have stored most of it in my garage.

    What Next?

Bacon-wrapped Oreos Smoked gummy bears Bacon-wrapped peanut butter & jelly sandwich Smoked meatloaf Smoked cabbage (amazing with butter and Creole seasoning I'm not trolling with the first two mentions! I saw a couple of people on Instagram throw down the Oreos, and uh... the gummy bears? My...

    Chefs Table-BBQ

I loved Tootsie's and Rodney's episodes. A really fun show. I love how Tootsie knows the pits so well that she will use the palpable sense of her hands to judge the heat. That is so awesome, in a world where so many people are using all sorts of gizmos and gadgets to barbecue. I'm not knocking...

Pulled pork and brisket for 45-50 people?

I 100% agree with you. I occasionally bring food to a man that I consider to be like a second dad to me. He worked for my dad for 20-some years back in the late-ish '80s until my dad's passing in late '03, and he's a good dude. Sometimes I cook up some grub that just isn't quite up to par in my...

Sliced brisket on a loaded baked potato ft. homemade cheese dip

I appreciate it, everybody! Thank you. Highly recommend giving this a shot. 👌 Haha! Yeah, Brad, I'm not too wild about Velveeta. Sometimes I wish my tastebuds' 'perception' could go back to the days when I ate junk like that, and I say that because my family is awful big on Velveeta. Fairly...

Post a picture of yourself! *****

Nice guess, and quite close! I’m in Tazewell County! My grandfather worked in the railroad industry and spent a great deal of time out that way in Norton.

Sliced brisket on a loaded baked potato ft. homemade cheese dip

I took a couple slices from the three briskets I smoked the other day and came up with this little creation that was so delicious that I HAD to share it with you guys. When I trimmed off a bunch of fat from all the briskets I smoked the other day, I filled up my 8-qt. Dutch oven with most of...

    Pellet Grills?

To this day, I have never, ever tasted meat from a pellet grill before, and it kills me! I want to so badly, just for the experience fueled by my curiosity. I see all the silly memes about 'EZ bake ovens' and all that jazz, but sometimes I wonder if the memes are created out of jealousy, because...
