    BBQ Guru Fan Adapter

Steven, I don't know if you noticed it or not, but under the comments section the producer of the video mentions a correction in adjusting the fit of the adapter. Go read the comment if you haven't already. It makes a difference in the fit. I used very little if any tape around the adapter.

Why doesn't Weber offer us other colors like these Euro models?

I like my Weber like I like my coffee, hot and black.

    Breaking in a DigiQ - Beginner ??

Todd, I'd guess the problem could have been the blower continuously blowing on a lot of ash. I haven't had that problem in the short time I've had my digi. I've only had to add coals a couple of times while using my digi and didn't get the ash. Maybe I was just lucky. My cooks weren't as...

    Smoker Identification and value?

No way would I give anywhere near $1000 for that. A $1000 can buy a lot of Weber smoker and accessories. Definitely would rather have a 22.5 WSM with or without a guru or stoker. If I were interested in a smoker with a box, I'd consider a 36" Lang patio model, which is less than a $1000...

    22" smokey

Logan, I can't find the link but a couple of months ago someone posted a pic of a windbreaker made with a 55 gal. plastic drum. I think car wash liquid comes in the drums. The ends are cut out and placed over the WSM (think it only works with 18.5"). It doesn't insulate but does break wind and...

BBQ temps from lid vs. Maverick

Mark, Early in the cook, my lid temps are often as much as 30 degrees lower than the grate probe on my digi. I'm sure part of difference is because the grate temp is influenced more by the meat just coming out of the fridge. The differences are normally about 10-15 degrees by the end of the...

How Do You Store Your WSM?

I have a screened-in patio/porch where the concrete extends a few feet beyond the screened-in section. My roof line was extended when this was built. My grills are stored under the overhang. I have Weber premium covers over my WSM and kettle. I let everything cool off and dry out before I...

    18.5 WSM Cover

I guess the purpose is to keep the cover tighter , maybe to keep wind from getting under it and blowing it off. If that's the case, I can't see much of a need on the WSM, but maybe the kettle.

    Thieves

Sorry to hear about the theft. It's not easy to replace things like that.

    Can briquettes be reused?

I've only used KB and have mixed feeling about reusing. The draw back to me is when I close all vents I end up with a lot more moisture (from water pan) and gunk in the smoker than otherwise. The other side is that I hate to waste charcoal and sometimes use my leftovers in my kettle. I saved...

So when do you use a drip-pan on a kettle

I use indirect in about all my grilling. I have the Weber charcoal holders and double up the pans. I double up the pans so they're a little stronger. I add a glass or two of water. When I'm finished I just pour the water out, dry the pan off with a paper towel and used it again. I use the...

How Do U Use Your Guru Blower Damper?

Digi DX 2 Running 2 Cookers

Yes, that makes sense. I went back and read about the blower splitter and I thought it was referring to running two cookers at the same time. I thought I'd just have to add a fan, probes, adapter, and splitter to be able to control two cookers from one digi. Doesn't seem to be the case. I've...

Digi DX 2 Running 2 Cookers

Anyone ever use the digi DX to run 2 cookers at a time using the split blower fan from guru? I'm thinking of getting a second WSM in the near future.

    18.5 WSM Cover

I'd thought about cutting the straps on my WSM and on my kettle. The straps make them difficult to go on and get caught on the handles and vents when I try to remove. Otherwise, they fit well. I guess I'll put up with it a little longer. I wouldn't want the wind to get under them.

My smoker is not getting past 210

Billy, I would take it off at 195. Loosely foil and let it set for an hour or so then pull it. It doesn't hurt to let it set a little longer. Let us know how it taste. Gary

My smoker is not getting past 210

Sounds like things are going well. Remember that if you throttle back your bottom vents that it normally takes a few minutes 10-20 for the change to really show up. My bet is that it'll turn out fine and that you'll go to bed on a full tummy tonight. P.S. I forgot something. You do need...

My smoker is not getting past 210

Billy, Sounds like things are improving. Your chimney coals probably weren't quite ready when you fired the pit and it just took a little more time for the temp to come up. I'd keep the top vent open but you're going to need to start shutting the bottom vents down a bit if the temp is...
