    Two newbie questions.

If you have a Harbor Freight in your area, pick up some stainless steel zip ties. They work great for that purpose. 25 for $5 or so. Also, your pics are currently unavailable to view.

**I'm going to the Dark Side and taking a Bullet with me!**

That is pretty cool! :) So what transports / feeds the pellets into the "arm"? Screw drive or something?

Meat Hanger Idea I've not seen before...

I agree. Don't know if I'd ever attempt that unless I had a spare lid to play around with....Peter Z would though. :p

    Adding Smoke Daddy

Lol. I do know how you love to mod things Peter. But why do mods which are unnecessary? Hell, you want ice cooling? Use the AMNPS on your charcoal grate and fill your water pan with ice. ;) I have a Smoke Pistol too. Do I ever use it? No....well once. ;) Although the Smoke Daddy is arguably...

    WSM Door

If it blocks the air, should work fine. You can get a stock replacement door pretty cheap here (select your correct model): http://www.ereplacementparts.com/weber-charcoal-grill-parts-c-193079_193086.html Or by calling Weber customer service. I prefer the Cajun Bandit SS replacement door, but...

    Adding Smoke Daddy

Why not just use an A-Maze-N-Pellet or Tube smoker? Cheaper, easier and requires no modifications. I use it in my WSM all the time. Just put on the charcoal grate and use the vents to control your air flow. Only downside is they cannot be used for hot smoke in a charcoal environment (not enough...

    Not A Weber but....TEN HUT!!!

Great advice from you as usual Bob. Don't think we're ready for anything yet. Friend#1 is just getting back today with the pit, but the CBBQA sounds ideal. Neither of us has ever cooked or helped in any comp, so we should qualify. Thanks again! :) LMAO...HAHAHAHA! :D Thanks for that one....I...

    Not A Weber but....TEN HUT!!!

Going with movie titles, we've come up with Aporkalypse Now Full Meat Jacket A Few Good Meats Porktoon Men Who Stare At Pigs Inglorious Bastards (although the movie is spelled "Basterds")

    Not A Weber but....TEN HUT!!!

Lol. I like it. Another we considered (for about 2 seconds) was Black Hog Down. :p

Hahaha...good ones. We'll add those to the list. Thanks! :)

    Not A Weber but....TEN HUT!!!

Not exactly sure yet. The person selling it won it in a raffle and never used it. I do know the steel is 1/4" thick, so at least we can take cover behind it. ;)

    Not A Weber but....TEN HUT!!!

Part 2 They get back from Michigan, and Friend#1 gets on the internet again, and of course finds something else. This time on ebay in Texas. Tells Friend#2 we must have it...Friend#2 makes it so. He is there right now picking it up. I haven't seen it yet with my own eyes, but I stole the pics...

    Not A Weber but....TEN HUT!!!

So my good friend and I have another good friend and from this point on will be referred to as Friend#1 and Friend#2. They are both really...I mean really good friends. So Friend#1 wants to do some competitions with me. Neither of us have any comp experience, but we both think it would be fun...

New to the smoker world and site

That looks like the perfect nook for some outstanding cooks! ;) Your research has wisely led you in your purchase...you will not be disappointed. Congratulations, and don't forget to post pics of your first brisket!!! Even better, it looks like you've found yourself a nice wind break with your...

    Slot for probes

From what I've read (I still have the bracket hole lamp rod), most use a dremel or an angle grinder.

Looks great! Fantastic first! :) When you say your old POS...what smoker are you referring to?

    Injecting the Devil's Butt...

I'd recommend it for the capacity in which I use it. I only pull it out for overnight cooks, which isn't that often. There are much better ATC's out there with tons more bells and whistles (and heftier price tags). But if I'm going to cook (and be awake), I prefer to be more hands on with my...
