To soak or not to soak

I think that the soaking thing is just an old wive's tale that keeps getting regurgitated.....over and over. Same goes for soaking corn on the cob. Throw the doggone smokewood in and get to smoking.

Vegetarian friends coming over! Wsm ideas?

Good point. Militant vegans would definitely complain...sadly, I live with one. :( If this is a concern, try cooking the vegan stuff first on a clean grill or cook their stuff on a separate grill.

    Bent WSM Lip

Yer liable to create more damage doing the repair with pliers ! Go to Harbor Freight and look at the auto body repair tools. You will see radiused backup blocks and the body man's hammer. There is a right way to do this. YMMV Hope the repair turns out well.

    Smokey Mountain vs Green Egg

BGE is promoted heavily by NASCAR. They are popular in the "NASCAR Belt". Too bad that they didn't choose Weber....I imagine there's a nice markup with the BGE.

Bone-in Chicken on the Kettle - direct vs indirect

Whole chicken when it's .99 per pound, indirect and kettle-roasted to golden brown perfection is my favorite way. Might take 3 hours. I can wait....more time to drink beer !

How do you sauce ribs when they're rolled?

I have some coiled and just getting started on the kettle. I'm probably going to do close to a 3-2-1 on them. When it's time for the sauce session, I'll just slather them while coiled. I won't get them 100% but that's OK.

How many B's are there in Weber?

As stated above, the one redeeming value of having the misspelling around is for us Craigslist hunters. Sometimes this is indicative of someone who doesn't know what he/she has and you may score an awesome deal if you search on "Webber" as part of your search routine.

    Promoting women in BBQ

This is a great topic. "Ooooh, only the men can play with the fire.....it's dangerous." Seems like that's the outdoor cooking directive handed down from the BBQ gods. I think many women have a sense of what really, really tastes good and that is the basic element that we chase. To that, add...

Nope. No time for line standing and subject to random drug testing....I would be big trouble if I failed, but I would then have time for line standing. ;)

How much to charge for used my 22" WSM

In this market for $300 it may sell after a long stint on CL. If you want to move it faster, you'll want to go lower....set the price $20-$25 higher than your lowest price.

Cast Iron grates for SJS worth it?

Everyone that has them, loves them. You almost never see them in the used market....that speaks volumes. They're on my wish list. If you like to high-heat sear, go for it. They're a quality product.
