First WSM Smoke Done - My Thoughts

The BGE is an awesome cooker, it can do anything you need all under one lid. But you can have both the WSM and Performer for a lot less $$$ than a BGE XL. Good luck.

First WSM Smoke Done - My Thoughts

Well my first smoke was yesterday with my new WSM 22 and what can I say other than awesome. In comparison to my Performer this is what I liked most. Grill space - had 6 full racks of ribs in there. Temp control - my Performer took some work to keep a steady smoke temp - the WSM just seemed to...

I Finally Pulled the Trigger on a WSM

Thanks guys I am pumped about having one finally. The Performer has served me very well for smoking. Only complaints - takes a bit of work to hold a nice, steady 225-250 degrees, longer smokes take some fuel top ups and grill space is limited with at least a 1/3 of the grill dedicated to coals...

I Finally Pulled the Trigger on a WSM

Hey just thought I'd mention I got a great deal on Kijiji yesterday for a new 22.5" WSM. Guy won it as a prize and did not want it. Saved $150.00 vs. new from the store. Been watching Kijiji and CL for while but here in Canada they don't come up too often and when they do they are gone quick. I...

The Great Debate: 18 or 22?

This thread was timely. I'll be honest I'm now uncertain again as I was ready to pull the trigger on an 18. We tend not to cook for larger groups, perhaps 1-2 per year. But from reading here the 22 seems like the choice. I have found one BNIB on Kijiji....guy won it as a prize and is looking to...

Well............I went to look at the 320 last night and it followed me home. Thanks Tom - another Weber in the stable :D.

300 or 320 - Are the Extras Worth the $$$$$

So I've sold my large Napoleon NG as most of my cooking these days is done on my Weber Performer. Having said that we still want a smaller propane unit for quick burgers/dogs/brats etc... Or if DW wants to grill something she has no interest in dealing with the charcoal Performer.....so we need...

Kijiji Kettle - Am I Missing Something???

I don't know but for $550, they better throw a pound of it in with the grill ;).

    A Couple Q Questions???

Thanks to everyone. Daryl thanks for the detailed "hands on" feedback. I'm "OFF" the 220 kick now....at least for a camping grill. Convicned from feedback here and from others I'll be keeping my trusted 120 and going this weekend to look again at a JJ side-by-side with a SJ. I think a JJ is...

    A Couple Q Questions???

George we generally camp in Ontario Provincial Parks which allow open fires (in designated fire pits) as well as charcoal cooking appliances (except during fire bans of course). At this point I'm thinking of keeping the Q120 which has been a great grill for me and is still in great condition...

Kijiji Kettle - Am I Missing Something???

Welp.........some salesmen believe there is a sucker born every day. You know, if I post something on Kijiji/CL, I usually will check what other sellers of the same/similar items are asking, factor in age, condition, # of items with 100 kms. of me, etc....then list. I guess others just go with...

    A Couple Q Questions???

Hey gang, I have a Q120 that has been our camping grill for years - still looks and works like new. At home recently bought a Weber Performer for grilling/smoking and I'm loving the charcoal/wood smokey flavour. Been playing around a lot more too with indirect setups (roasts, shoulders, etc...)...

Kijiji Kettle - Am I Missing Something???

Saw this add today on Kijiji. It looks like an older Performer. Now maybe I am missing something but $550 - paid $899 new???????? I picked up my brand new gas assist Performer last year for $339. Kijiji Kettle

    My Next Grill....Advice Please

Thanks guys Went to my local BBQ shop yesterday and looked at the Jumbo side-by-side with the SJ Gold and here is my take for our family of 4: Gold big enough for direct grilling, too small for an effective indirect setup. Although I could do what others here have done with the 32 Q pot making...

    My Next Grill....Advice Please

Sorry should have specified. We have a Ford Expedition and tow a Coleman Bayside popup camper with us so storage space is not an issue.

    My Next Grill....Advice Please

So I have a Napoleon gasser and a Performer at home for grilling/smoking. I also have a Q-120 (propane) for camping. Since getting my Performer I have not cooked with gas at home. I'd like to start cooking/smoking with charcoal while camping and was thinking about either a Smokey Joe...

    Cold Smoking on Performer

Thanks for all the tips/advice - the Amaze-n-smoker is very cool (no pun intended), I've added it to my wish list.
