    Q200 wonky igniter

We just recently sold out beloved Q120 for the bigger 200. That little guy got us through six years of service with not 1 problem. I learned early to inspect and clean the burner holes at least once a season. As LMichaels said, "BEST" portable around but even the best needs some maintenance to...

    New Guy w/ Question

Your friend has paid most of the depreciation on the Genny so for $400 you're getting IMHO a better quality 3 burner vs. 2 burner. Most grill owners don't register which means if you do, the warranty goes to you (I think) - at least what ever is left. Having said that on such a well kept grill...

    Q200 wonky igniter

Remove grate. Leave in the "OFF" position. When you push ignitor - do you see spark? If yes clean burner holes particularly around ignitor. I find a pin works good to just move around the holes a bit and dislodge any deposits that may restrict flow. It should be obvious to the naked eye which...

Foiling the Water Pan, and Does That Affect Temp

Tried this method just this past weekend and it worked very well (no water). I've checked out the Facebook group Eugene speaks of and yes there are some using the balls of foil which was the first time I'd heard of it. Here's my take. Some use water, some use sand, some use wet sand, some...

    Side Table Replacement Options???

So I've picked up a used 1200 (free) from a local classified. The side tables and bottom shelf are all made from that Weber grey wood-type stuff. Some were missing, some are in rough shape. If I consider replacing all the sides/flips ups/bottom shelves........what materials have others used in...

    Built my mini today

Nice work, looks great. I'm looking forward to building mine in the next few weeks. I have my SJS but not the the pot. Finding it in the great white north has been impossible. So I've just ordered it through Wally World USA and it's being shipped to a Niagara Falls store for my pick up in the...

    Cover fits pretty tight

Agree with Tim and Kirk - cut those dumb straps. I found they were most of the issue. The cover still fits fine after just won't get snagged going up or down.

    Which bbq grill ?

Personally I'd look at the Q series. For 2 -6 people I'd recommend a Q2200. Solid Weber performance at a much nicer price point than a Genesis and a much smaller foot print. Plus it's portable if you ever go camping or tailgate etc.....I'd take a Q over the Spirit line any day of the week and...

    Indirect and smoke

What they said . But you'll never get true "smokey" BBQ from a gasser.........if you want to step up, get a dedicated smoker like the WSM. If a hint of smokiness is what you're after, the above mentioned method works fine. Also to improve your indirect setup, get a Weber trivet if...

    Genesis 1100 restoration

Great refurb. I just picked up a 1200 (I think) tonight with 13 bars as well. Burners, FBs and grates appear in good condition but the grill was used a lot and my guess NEVER cleaned so I've got a lot of work ahead.

    Restore Question/Problem

Thanks....I ended up selling it but this one came up "FOR FREE" today and it's natural gas which I have a connection for on my patio. The burners, FBs and grates are in good shape. At this point I think a good cleaning, some paint touch ups, a few small parts and it'll be in great shape.

This has to be a deal right?

At a glance hard to say. The only thing of concern for me is the fact the wheels appear off and it looks like the bottom has been resting on pallets and it looks bent up. The grates and FBs look reasonable but need to inspect those (and burners) in person. If you're willing to use it as is $70...
