    Just dropped the 15 lb bird in the brine mixture of JD and Maple along with the quarters from 3 oranges, Kosher salt, pickling spice. Can't wait to see how this comes out. Thanks for the posting.

    Thanks for sharing your experience as it has given additional confidence for tonight. Going live with first smoke pork butt and first use of WSM. Got the butt rubbed and injected (that doesn't sound right for the casual reader) but ready to go tonight.

    Brine Bucket

    Ended up going to a restaurant supply store-what a gold mine!!!! Found BBQ mops, injectors, latex gloves-all at cheaper prices than amazon. I struck the mother load!!!! Found a bucket which resembled a huge measuring cup-had handles on sides for easy carrying.

    Can someone recommend an internal thermometer that is specifically used for a WSM? The Propler (sp?)Thermometer states under its FAQS that its thermometer is NOT designed for use in a smoker. Need guidance as I am a new owner. Thanks
