Interesting comments... I currently have a 18.5 WSM and an wanting to upgrade to the 22.5 for the larger cooks. How does it fit both though? Seeing how the lid for the Kettle goes on the outside and the lid on the WSM goes on the inside? Do you just flip it over? CM

Exactly... That's some great advice. If you can, find some buddies to go in with you and split all the costs. If you're a newbie at a competition, most event organizers will place you near some experienced teams that are more than willing to help. Best of luck! CM

I love my Smokey Joe Gold... It's great when I need to do something really quick and it's just for me. I do a lot of my steaks indirect and then reverse sear, so it depends on the size of steak. However, for burgers, dogs or some chicken breast it's perfect. You'll love it. CM
