    Playing catch up

I'm working on a build thread for another forum that I'll post here for those who are interested, but in the meantime here's a quick peek... Cabinet: Tank:

    Playing catch up

It's literally been a month since I've posted, real busy around the homestead. Fish tank is done, now we ripped apart the old deck and pulled out the cedar hedges to make way for a bigger deck and a fence to make the yard way more private. I did managed to do a few cooks though :) Part 1: A...

Here's a Jim Lampe photo you don't see every day

I saw this on the Facebook when Jim posted it and I loved the article and the pictures. I'm a bit late to comment here, but I want to say something about this: I can't think if a better way to describe my friend Jim. It doesn't matter how new you are to BBQ, to Weber grills or to tvwbb...or...

Morel Egg McCorrell & rain play pics

Great pics and awesome looking breakfast Bob! It's interesting to me, as a photographer, that even with today's fanciest cameras there is virtually no way to recreate what Adams did with his 4x5 cameras. His skill in the darkroom is a lost art, and even people who still shoot film wish they...

    Easter dinner

New Toy and Some Easter Action

Hey Folks, I finally got myself a Smokey Joe, been wanting one for ages and they finally came out with a Crimson at HD in Canada so I grabbed one. Last Friday was my buddy's birthday and a few of his customers wanted to surprise him at his shop to thank him for all the help he gives to...

4 weeks of snow melt and some food

Great post Bob. I'll come take some of that sugar maple off your hands soon. Yard looks great, as did mine...until it snowed again this morning! I'm pretty sure we're never getting out of this hell. For those of you reading, it was nearly 25 Celsius here one Monday and we got a few inches...

    Surfing and turfing

Enrico, I know what you mean, but it's actually quite good. I don't think lobster is common in Roma, but maybe some scampi tails would be good too. I would recommend you to try it at least once...I ate many things in Italy I would not have thought I would try and loved them all!

    RibEye N Tail

Happy birthday James! I made the same meal Saturday night, but for 6 people :) I took my lobster tails out of the package, then soaked them in cold water in the shell. I left them as they were in the shell and put them on indirect until they were about 120 and then moved them over the fire...

    Surfing and turfing

"Surf and turf" is a colloquialism that means something from the sea (usually shellfish) and something from the land (usually steak) served together :)

    Frijoles y Peurco

They do something similar when they make rice in Cuba, Arroz con Moros y Christianos (Rice of Moors and Christians). They use the juice and some of the beans to make the rice, as well as a sofrito of onions, garlic and peppers. We fell in love with it at a restaurant in Havana last year and...

    Surfing and turfing

Really busy week this week at work for me and really crappy week for my wife, so I decided to surf and turf to cheer us both up. Got some t-bones, rib steaks and some lobster tails on sale today. Left the lobster unseasoned in the shell, and hit the steaks with some steak spice on one side and...

Pork Belly Tacos on the Mini WSM

Awesome post. I saw an episode of DDD where they did a pork belly taco and after that, plus you're post here...I'm going to try it with a Berkshire belly I've got in the freezer!

32 Whole Wings on the 22" Kettle

I've done the same thing, used the hover grate I got with my smokenator because I misjudged how much room I needed. Whole chicken wings are, so far, my favourite thing to make on my 22" kettle!!!

    Beef kabobs on the WSM!!

    My best ribs ever...

Looks great Tony! Enrico, you can see the Korean flag on the dobok (uniform) so it's Taekwondo.
