    Charcoal

The hatred comes from the fact the old formula was great. Burned a little slower and cooler. I still have a bag left that I can't bring myself to opening. I'll wait for a special occasion maybe for my 20th wedding anniversary or something.

    What goes with bbq salmon?

I like to make asparagus with that dish. Coat them with a little olive oil mixed with balsamic vinegar. While they cook on the vegetable rack, brush a little more of that oil/vinegar mix. When you plate the asparagus, sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on them. If you were serving beef, you can...

    Tel-Tru BQ300 Install with pics

I just got done with the install not 15 minutes ago. Came out better than I thought. It was easy with the Unibit. Used the silver marker, punched a starter and used the 1/8th inch bit to start the hole. Took my time, had some burrs on the other side which I cleaned up by drilling from the...

    Tel-Tru BQ300 Install with pics

BTW, Wolfe Rubs definitely has excellent customer service. I ordered the TelTru Aluminum face BQ300 for my WSM yesterday. Later that day I received an email from Larry Wolfe stating they were out of those so he offered me the TelTru Glow instead. Very nice of them to do that for me, not common...

    Tel-Tru BQ300 Install with pics

Through the years I have read a few of these self install Thermo threads. None of them inspired me like this one to just do it. After seeing your son getting it done in your pictures, I figured I'd give it a shot. I've been using a cheapie Taylor through the vent hole that keeps falling off and...

    New WSMs for 2009

I wonder if Weber would allow the purchase of the thermometer with that cool ring it sits in, and the charcoal grate with the modification for owners of the older model? If I can purchase those 2 items I'd be happy. The unused coals falling through is a pain on the current model. The heat shield...

    lodge grill pan

I have the 12 x 12 griddle. Can't be used inside without a tremendous amount of smoke. But I found if I sit it atop of coals, I can cook thick steaks that come out like a steakhouse.

    Smoking Chunks in New Jersey

I thought I saw some bags of smoke wood hanging over the check outs at Ramsey's Sport shop on rte 17NORTH (the one closer to rte 4, they have a store a couple of miles further up on rte 17 closer to NY)

WSM vs. Smoker with offset firebox

Plus, as a bonus to owning a WSM you're never on your own because of this site. Here you have an entire site dedicated to this one smoker plus. All of it, mods, recipes, how to, forum...etc. That's the main reason I purchased a WSM. Just poking around I found this site. Started reading and...

    Vacuum sealer help

it can literally pay for its self. for instance, Shop Rite by me had Butts at .69/lbs about a year ago, they were trimmed and tied up ready to go. The usual price is $1.69 on sale and $1.99 regular. I picked up 14 of them (picked up the phone and asked for them, the butcher though I had my own...

home depot hardwood charcoal briquettes, $3 for 20lbs

I used mine today for BRITU. With the new K, 2 bowls would start running out of steam at around the 4 hour mark. With the Rancher, all I had to do was monitor the temp and adjust my vents all the way to the end (about 5.5 Hrs). My biggest fear now is that Home Depot will stop carrying it. I...
