Line your kettle with foil for a better sear?

I used to line the bottom of my old CharmGlow portable gas grill (same shape as a GGA) with foil to catch all the drippings and make cleanup easier (it didn't have Weber's "flavorizer" cover over the burner tube).... Probably why I couldn't cook worth a da*n on it....:D

    New member of the family!

Pete, I bought a gas Go Anywhere for those times when there are fire restrictions...plus it was on sale for $27.00 at Home Depot! It's the only gas grill I own and I haven't even used it yet, but it's assembled and ready if I ever need to fire it up!

    Makin Bacon Mr. Corrells Way

Russ, I made that trip quite a few times during the 2 1/2 years we lived in Hesperus! That's a full day to say the least...took me and Cody (my Roti mix at the time..he was a serious "Road Toad"!) 3 hrs 45 minutes one way from Hesperus. It was fun, though. Funny thing - there was a Sam's Club...

Need some advice on which charcoal kettle grill to buy

Michael, you'll get as many opinions about lump vs. briquets as there are members here on TVWBB! Personally, I use briquets and have not had a "fail" yet. Yes, I've used lump a couple of times but prefer briquets since they seem to give me a more consistent burn. And as for your 1st question - I...

    Anyone upgrading to Windows 10?

Yeah, I miss Apple's "underdog" mentality from years past. I'm still runnin' Snow Leopard 10.6.8 because my Mac Book will only upgrade to Lion, while my iMac can go to the current OS. Tried Lion but my internet kept dropping so I went back to SL. My iPod is limited to IOS 5...seems Apple makes...

Daughter and son-in-law's vintage camper hobby

Well Rich, she's been my guide for 42 married years (as of July 14th), so I'm guessin' we'll survive a few backing up mishaps!:D I've seen those online Bob and they look intriguing. I like that you can see over it when pulling it, like a tent trailer, but set up faster and no wet canvas to...

Daughter and son-in-law's vintage camper hobby

I have Bob. They are nice and (unfortunately) hold their prices quite well! Plus, I discovered the hard way that the top of the door is lower than my forehead when I try to exit one! Thanks for the valuable insight Rich! The plus of a motorhome for me is NOT having to tow anything (an...

Daughter and son-in-law's vintage camper hobby

Thanks for posting this Bob! I've been looking to get some sort of RV, be it a SMALL trailer (my tow vehicle is a 2004 Tacoma Double Cab so weight is an issue) or a small, used motorhome. The work they are doing on those vintage trailers is AWESOME! I wish I had the talent to restore something...

    Help??

As Dustin said, this would be the fastest way to drop the temp...or you could just try the high heat method this time. I typically run my WSM at 325-350ºF when I'm smoking pork butts and have been very happy with the results.

Who will be the first one here to grill a dausage?

My body has been more of an amusement park than a "temple", but I think I'll pass...:D
