What do you think of this.....

To put it mildly, I disagree with Mr. Christopher J. Teuton, whomever he may be. But just to play devil's advocate...what if the article had been written by a well-respected chef? Or Alton Brown? Or someone who has a huge Youtube following? Would our reactions be the same?

    Stuffed pork chops

While I'm still grilling and smoking I've really fallen off with photos, but I did document some pork chops a few months ago. I started with some really nice rib chops that I seasoned with S&P. Then I split them, seasoned the inside, and added some Koops' yellow mustard. Then I stuffed them...

That's actually a pretty good way to get out of a 1970s Camaro or Firebird, although the hand is placed on the rocker panel/door sill instead of the ground. If it's done right you spin out of the car and land on your feet with enough momentum to break into a brisk walk.

Hard work is its own reward!

Just a standard economy faucet. We're probably going to be replacing the sink itself in a couple of years so this faucet just has to get us by until then. I like the idea of a hands-free faucet, but I don't know if I'd go electronic or foot-operated mechanical. The hardest part of the removal...

Hard work is its own reward!

The heck it is...after replacing the kitchen sink faucet I've earned the ribs that are in the WSM!;)

I would've made him a deal on my 2002 Silverado 2500! This summer I'm going to look for a pre-emissions era GM or Mopar 4x4 plow truck. Rust is acceptable as long as the brake and fuel lines are solid.

Very nice, John! Since you live in California, is that the original paint?

    Beer.

It was nice that you were able to bring in some food. Beers look good!

    New to me 18.5 wsm

I wonder how long he had to weigh keeping the WSM vs. selling it.

Or a small-block Chevy. Or a turbo Buick 3800. ;) Nah, everybody does that. I think it's more of a challenge to see how much I could actually wring out the 4-banger, although there are 2 swaps I'd think about: a Super Duty 4-cylinder if I could find one that didn't cost an arm and a leg, and...

Original tires are 185/80-13, and 195/70-14 and 205/60-15 are upgrades that wouldn't require any speedo changes. I've been looking for some decent original 14" Fiero wheels but they're more expensive than new aftermarket 15" wheels, and since I'm not overly concerned about correctness at this...

It's a base model '85 with the mighty Iron Duke 4-cylinder (92 HP!) and a 5-speed; in fact, one of the reasons I bought it is the manual transmission. It'd been over 10 years since I'd last rowed my own and was really starting to miss doing so. It needs some sorting out but appears to be solid...

Or you could save it for your grandson... A couple of months ago I picked up a warm weather ride. It's far from perfect and could probably bankrupt me if I went all out, but it's fun to drive and you just don't see many of them anymore.

    Beer.

We went to dinner at the local brewpub tonight and I brought home a growler of the Scotch ale. Not bad, but at 8.5% ABV I'd better nurse it!

    SHRIMP PSA- Proceed with caution!

Because of the increased demand for shrimp, southeast Asia is seeing a lot of deforestation to make room for more shrimp farms. Not good. I buy Dominick's in the blue bag. Wild-caught in the Gulf of Mexico and not treated with any sort of sodium compounds - the bag lists shrimp as the only...

    Recrisping a turkey?

As of right now, my plan for Thursday is to either rotisserie the turkey or cook it beer can style. This will take place here and then the turkey will have to be transported 20 minutes to the dinner site. I'm thinking of putting it in a dish and then sealing it in with foil; this will keep it...

Smaller turkeys at Festival Foods (WI)

Today I found a Plainville Farms 8-1/4 lb. turkey in Festival Foods in Ft. Atkinson, WI. It wasn't cheap ($4-something/lb) but since a standard 12+ bird is more than I need, it's worth it.
