    What Weber is this? Vintage?

The top looks different too. Does it have the name Weber anywhere on it? Usually a Weber will have its name on the handles, vent wheels, and wheels.

    Performer losing porcelon coating

Welcome to the forum Perry, Yes, adding water to a hot kettle will cause damage to the porcelain finish. Rather than using water to steam clean the grates, just use a grill brush while the grate is still hot. You can also use a wet warm sponge or rag to wipe out the grill once it's no longer...

    another mini SJ project

It is pretty remarkable. I've used a quarter of the amount of charcoal that I would normally use the WSM and I still end up with mostly unlit charcoal after 4 hours. I used this for camping three times, it's great!

    Spares - foil?

Ditto. I'll eat them FOTB or chewy yet tender, but the family prefers them FOTB... so foiling it shall be

    Fattie...Latin Style

I don't remember who it was out here who suggested to pre-cook the bacon weave, but it works really well. Cook it just enough so that it's strong but pliable and it will hold together nicely. That's been my go to method for the last couple of years... not that I eat these all the time mind you

S J. Gold Mini WSM Smoker

The latest crop of minis look great! I just completed mine yesterday. I need to paint it still, looking for a good Vikings purple since the SJ is an NFL Vikings edition.
