What, in your mind, is "barbecued chicken"?

BBQ Chicken = cooked on a hot grill with sauce. Sauce can be red or white. Can be dry rubbed first, but must have sauce. Smoked Chicken is cooked low and slow.

Pit Probe not reaching temps when calibrating

Started in ice water. All three probes read 32(ish) pit temp probe reads 54.7 Moved to boiling water. Probes are ~212, pit at ~175ish. Is there a way to calibrate the pit probe? Tweak the mV/C? Is my thermocouple jacked up? This is more than a few years old, so I don't think it is a...

Weber Kettle and Summit charcoal-- looking for a temp controller... or how about Tip Top Temp?

Honestly I went with a HeaterMeter and have never looked back. I went this way mostly because of my siding on my house that blocks all but the strongest signals and Bluetooth doesn’t make into my kitchen from the grill. Wi-Fi does. And the heatermeter ticks most of my nerd boxes

Wanted suggestions for new pit probe

That’s what I thought, but I’ve been running the heatermeter for years. I suppose the connection could be crapping out but I figured the probe might be the culprit

Wanted suggestions for new pit probe

After using my heater meter to check / calibrate the my oven temp I have found that my pit probe was reading 40+ behind my "meat" probes. I checked all of the probes in boiling water and found that yes, my pit probe was off by over 40 degrees. I attempted to adjust it with "offset" and it...

My MM is being a pill today. A lot of NO CONNECTIONS errors that come and go and it tends to shut itself off. Any thought?

Heater meter questions before jumping in

Honestly Id go with a 3 over a zero. I haven’t used a zero as a Heatermeter, but I have used them in other projects and they do not perform as well. Besides the limited computing power (which really might not be a problem here) ive found the WiFi to be sub-par, and with the meter outside, you...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

That 15cmf fan is because of me, and I think I might be the only one running one. It was a blower from a different setup that I had and was more of less working. It is over kill UNLESS you really need a rippin hot fire. Normally my fan runs at less than 15-20%. The only time I max it out is...

    Cracked / broken pumpkin roll.

Remove from oven and imeaditaly flip on to a four sack type towel. Carefully remove the parchment paper and roll up the cake with the towel and allow to cool. Once cool carefully unroll and frost/ fill. Less is more with the fillin as too much will make a gooey mess and may cause the cake to...

Diminishing flavor quality of ketchup with use

I do that with my gallon paint cans. Smash the lid on tight and store them upside down. Seems to keep the paint better/ longer that way.

If I’m reading everything correctly, and that is a big IF, I should be able to a few lines and another led display and have it display fan percentage?

I will be adding this shortly. I’ll have to dig for a resistor and led.
