    Who uses Blue Bag Kingsford??

Brandon, I can't speak for others, but I use lump when firing the WSM. I really like Wicked Good Charcoal's Weekend Warrior Blend. They also make lump briquettes that are great with my OTG. As far as BBK goes, I don't use it because of the additives that they use in the process. And...

    Cooking on Charcoal Grate?

One other suggestion: brine the bird and then 'spatchcock' it. That consists of cutting out the backbone and removing the keel bone from the breast. It sounds like a lot of work but it takes only a couple of minutes. This flattens out the bird for more even cooking. You can also place a...

That seems like too much work. Why not use the grate lifter (if you bought it) and simply remove one of the grates to add coals? You could 'spin' the entire grate to add coals in another place, for indirect cooking, or you could rake them into place.

As far as the pre-seasoning goes, I wouldn't put much faith in it. I finally got to use mine last weekend and I noticed that, due to higher humidity here, there was rust on the surface. I brushed that off and then did a major seasoning on the entire unit. I got two of the grill/griddle plates...

18" WSM Stainless Steel Door Replacement

I got mine this morning and it fits tightly along the sides but there is a significant opening on the top. I tried several washer configurations and even when I push hard against the knob, there is space to the right and left. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Dan

    Weber Rotisseire VS EZ Que

When I used to own a Showtime Rotisserie, I put the spit rod through the center of the roast, not down the length of it. In that way, you didn't get a gaping hole in the middle of the entire roast. Dan

    Rotisserie on the 22.5" wsm

Ralph, I was visiting this site and that's where I first heard of it being discontinued. I hope you that are right as it makes the kettle really versatile at an affordable price. Dan

    Rotisserie on the 22.5" wsm

[Ralph wrote]I think Weber could easily make a version of the rotisserie to fit WSM 22.5; I'd get one. Am I correct in assuming that Weber no longer makes the kettle rotisserie? I thought that I had heard that earlier in the year. If so, it'll be for the EZ-Que folks to take this up and that...

18" WSM Stainless Steel Door Replacement

I'm sure glad I read these posts even though I placed my order earlier this morning. I too, have the newer model so I filled out a Contact Form at their site with the ordering info. Thanks to those who gave us a 'heads-up' on this one! Can't wait to get it and also to be able to order a...

    Weber Rotisseire VS EZ Que

dan, does that tumble basket really work ? i keep thinking that one would get beaten veggies that way. george George, I have to admit that I use it more for wings and smokies than for veggies. With veggies, the darned things keep 'escapin' into the fire! Dan

The accessories for the grate were promised by July 28 and I didn't see them on the website today. I sent a msg to the site and got a reply from Rolf Buerkle: Hello Dan, sorry, am on a business trip and didnt have time to update the store yet. They are due at the warehouse today and will...

    Weber Rotisseire VS EZ Que

I have both and can attest to their fine performance. I found a couple of baskets this year that fit the Weber spit rod so I use this setup more often. The baskets were a lot less expensive than the EZ-Que though neither holds as much food. I use the smaller baskets for chicken parts and I...

    kettle cleaning II

George, I tried a product called FulSol from the Fuller Brush Company. It has been advertised on QVC and it is water-soluble. All you do is spray it on and then soak a stainless steel scrubber in lots of water. It cuts through the worst baked-on gunk almost effortlessly. I'm rather anal...

Did you catch that little can of Ronson fuel? I last had one of those when I owned a Zippo! Does it get much worse than that...what a maroon!!! Dan

One touch with slide and table

I actually have two of the plastic tables and the Slide-Aside. The lid sits a bit higher and rests against the side of each table. I just put some Duck tape on the place where the lid rubs against the table. Obviously, there isn't a cover for this configuration which is fine as I have a shed...

    WSM new top cooking grate?

Randy, Did you give Weber CS a call? I got a SS grate for my 18" WSM a few months ago by ordering from Weber. As for the new CI grate, unless you use your WSM for grilling, I wouldn't spend the money for that grate. Cast iron's appeal is its ability to produce 'killer grill marks', to heat...

Frank, I think yours is a legitimate question, given that the grate is not cheap. I have a Patio Pro charcoal grill from Chargriller that has two small cast iron grates. I find that, once properly seasoned, they heat up uniformly thus ensuring that food will be cooked evenly. The additional...

    Kingsford Chimney starter

I don't know about the quality, but the price, 25 dollars is 8-10 dollars more than a Weber chimney and the latter has the helper handle and looks to hold more coal as well.

    Firebricks

You might want to give this product a look/see as well: http://www.stonewarepalace.us/ The Grill 'n Stone, unlike fire bricks, requires no special attention and comes in several sizes. It's reversible too so one side can be used for regular grilling and the other side is flat for pizza, fish...
