The table was built mostly from scraps left over after a deck build. 4x4 are PT pine and the the 2x4 and 1x4 are cedar or cypress. I just looked up some simple plans online and winged it - I'm actually not the most handy person in the world. Its a little wobbly, but very sturdy / heavy.
I love the JJ - I get home late a lot and often cook for myself as kids are in bed and the Mrs. has eaten already. For a couple of burgers, pork chops, a steak - it's great. Also good for tailgating / camping. Only thing I don't like is the lack of an ash sweeper. But it's not a big deal. I've cooked tri-tip and meatloaf as well.
