Need help on Genesis 2000 rebuild

Had I known about the Carpin tube connectors, I would have cut out the entire bad section of tubing and replaced the entire span (see photos). What I did was cut out the center (it had rusted around the bolt hole likely due to heat and galvanic action). I then unbolted the frame and slid a 1"...

Natural Gas (NG) quick connect included?

You are correct, Michael. I found it behind a label wrapped up with the supply hose. I bought this grill back in April while remodeling the deck. My wife re-prioritized my projects and I had to install a ceramic tile floor in the kitchen. I'm back to finishing the deck now and hopefully will...

Natural Gas (NG) quick connect included?

I recently replaced my Genesis 1000 NG with a new EP-310 NG model. My older unit included both components of the gas quick-connect, the hose-end and the supply side. My EP-310 did not. My original supply-side should still be serviceable, but I was wondering if it is missing or no longer...

Replaced my Genesis 1000 NG with EP-310, now...

Sorry for the delay in responding. The nameplate I removed, stripped, painted with the Rustoleum mentioned above and flat sanded the plate using progressively finer grits to reveal the embossing. I reattached it with new retainers.

The Red is the original porcelain, it held up extremely well with just a little rust along the bottom front edge. I bet you were ticked off over the stray BB. I hope you gave the mandatory "your gonna put someone's eye out..." speech to the shooter.

It went to a couple less than 1/2 mile away for $125

Replaced my Genesis 1000 NG with EP-310, now...

Rustoleum Ultra (it is satin, not flat): I used the regular flat "BBQ Black" a few years back but it looks a bit chalky. The satin black looks far superior on the Genesis.

Replaced my Genesis 1000 NG with EP-310, now...

Although it has served me well most of my adult life, I am remodeling my covered deck and my wife talked me into treating myself to a new grill. I hated to imagine the faithful G1000 rusting away in a landfill, so some twisted moral imperative caused me to put some effort and money into...

    NG vs Propane

I've been cooking on a 1995 Genesis 1000 also. It was originally a propane model that I converted in 2000. I did not notice any loss in performance and not dealing with LP tanks is a big plus!
