Picked up a used 14" WSM. DO I need the internal heat shield?

I picked up my first (I can assure you it won't be my last) WSM. It is the 14.5" model. I got what I feel was a great deal on it. I paid $115 for it. It is in great condition and has no rust. It has the upgraded Cajun Bandit door with the pull and turn latch. The previous owner also added...

Igniter help for gen 1 performer

Hi guys, long time lurker here. I need a bit of help. I found a killer deal on a very very nice stainless top gen one performer charcoal. The igniter does not work on it. It has the igniter type that you push real hard and it gives one click. It is not the electronic type. I know its the...

    Is this a 26" kettle?

Seller re-measured. Its a 22". So if anyone wants a ridiculously overpriced 22 inch grill, I can point you in the right direction.

    Is this a 26" kettle?

Heh, Never thought of that Timothy. I never specified to measure the bowl.

    Is this a 26" kettle?

John, I am thinking that since it doesn't have the thermometer in the lid, that it may be an older model without the lid bale. Not sure though. I have yet to hear back from the seller for me to see it. I have seen some older 26" units online with the black ash catcher. But most of those have the...

    Is this a 26" kettle?

Saw this on Craigslist near my work. I emailed the seller and they say it measures about 26". I am not 100 percent sold on it being a 26". Can anyone tell me one way or the other if it appears to be a 22 or a 26? I would hate to waste an hour round trip only to find the seller lacks measuring...

    Simple Weber Performer umbrella mod

Yes, they are tiki torches. I bought nice metal ones and watched them rust away and look terrible after a few seasons. I figure with glass and copper components, they will look nice for years to come.

Made these Sunday. Family went nuts for them. More flavor and lots less work. Thank you for the post.

    Simple Weber Performer umbrella mod

I lurk on the forum and steal ideas from here regularly. I do not post much as I am a novice (at best) griller, and have little to offer in terms of grilling advice. However I did make what I feel is a pretty cool mod to my Performer that I think some here will appreciate. My family counts on...

Any cool grill accessory boxes out there?

The wood has split in several places. The box has been demoted (or promoted depending on how you want to look at it) to being the firewood carrier/holder box. It actually looks pretty cool sitting by the fireplace with the wood stored on end inside the box.

I have never met your wife, but yes you will have a hard time :)

Any cool grill accessory boxes out there?

Not a bad option Chris. I am looking for something a bit smaller though as I have a small deck. I already have a couple of deck boxes, but they are located far from the deck.

Any cool grill accessory boxes out there?

I have Two nice Webers. I do not have a garage. I want to have a cool looking storage box to keep my grill accessories in. I store a couple of small propane tanks for the Weber performer, leather BBQ gloves, charcoal tongs, and things like that. I bought an old Coca Cola wooden box, and it...
