I like Bobby Flay but this afternoon when I saw him give a pork butt a steam bath in chicken stock, only season with salt and pepper, and then finish it off in a skillet (after pulled) it really bothered me. All in about four hours. I'm just glad there is this forum. If I would have seen that...
It's 7:30 and the grill is quickly reaching 220. Just thought I'd pop in to see what others are doing this AM. At 12:00 there is going to be a seven hour marathon on BBQ and Grilling with Bobby Flay. Great entertainment while smokin pork butt. My kids are in for a real treat!
I just went out and bought an 8 lb. Pork Butt (Mr. Brown), 3 lbs. of Beer Brats, a rack of baby backs for snacking and I'm considering doing a beer can chicken. I'll probably cut the ribs into three sections and try a few new rubs on each. Can't forget the creamy cole slaw and cheese stuffed...
Well it's been 72 hrs since I purchased my smoker (offset firebox type) and I picked up a Weber Style digital remote thermometer this afternoon. I used it for my first "real cook" of country style ribs and I was not at all pleased with the performance.
