I was under the impression that while in infrastructure mode you could monitor the smoker with an android device. Is this not the case? That is a make or break decision for me since I do not have an iphone nor ipad

Am I understanding this correctly that you can run the CyberQ Wifi even without having it connected to a network. In other words, if I cant get it to run off my network can it still function? Kind of like a more expensive version of the DigiQ with more probes?

that's a good idea jason. so you dont think that big of a notch would impact the CyberQ's ability to maintain a steady temp?

Approximately how far down below the lip should the notch go if I want to make sure all 4 probe wires from the CyberQ Wifi fit? Would this be too much open space in the event I didnt use all of the probes? Thoughts?

if i am cooking both baby backs and a pork butt at the same time, what is the best way to approach this? obviously the pork butt takes much longer, so do i put that on first with minion method and a few wood chunks and then 5 hours or so in to the cook do i add the baby backs and add more wood...

I have to say I hate buyers remorse and I am torn between the two of them. The extra $100 for the ability to monitor from a smart phone is appealing, but...

Is the extra $50 worth it for the gas assist on the Platinum to light the charcoal? Already have a chimney starter with my 22.5 WSM and not sure about how effective the gas assist is for starting the coals. Anyone care to weigh in?? Thanks!!

Thanks for the response. Mostly I will use for just HH cooks with an occasional indirect cook here or there. Got a Weber Q220 on a cart in case i need any more space. But for $15 I think it is a no brainer.......right?? lol

About to score a sick deal on a 18.5 OTS in great condition, but with this being my first charcoal grill (outside of a 22.5 wsm) is there enough space to cook for a family of 4 with an occasional guest or 2??
