    Have a brisket with a "sell by date" of 2/14/20. It has been in the fridge since then in cryo and was purchased from Kroger. Planning to smoke today, should it still be safe? Smelled fine and wasnt slimey.

    Thanks for the replys everyone. This fell off my radar, my apologies. I ended up throwing everything away as I really didnt want to run the risk. One of those lessons learned the hard way I suppose. Don't let ice build up the walls in the deep freeze. ;-)

    Thank you Mike and Lee. Scored $70.00 brisket this weekend at Krogers I forget the size (20LBish), I'll have check but I got it on sale for around $45. Last one too, I was pumped. Brisket is my favorite and I cannot wait to smoke it.

    Thank you for all the tips guys! So much info to gather and I think I may be too focused doing everything "right" the first go around. I need to see how my smoker performs I suppose. Hopefully I will get to do this Monday 😎
