    Thank you all for the reply's. I just lit some in a chimney and added as needed. But I did find alot of helpful ideas for the future.

    I usually dont need to refill but on this cook I will. what is the best recomended way of adding fuel with kingsford? Add lit or unlit? After using the smokey mountain for 3 years this is a first. Sorry for dumb question.

    Since it has basicly been brined. What if you wanted to make the apple brine for it to add additional flavor. Should you just not add the salt?
