Remember it's a New shiny smoker. The More you use it the More sealed up / seasoned it gets. All wsm or smokers tend to run a bit Hot when New! There's alternative door's out there also. Though I've never used them I Just manually bend door to fit snug
Thank you so much , yes i have a 18inch WSM , its absolutely magic ! the only overshoot i've had is i had the lid opened to long late in the cook , and it got to max 245f , (not that bad lol ) and i was ready to carnalize the sause on the ribs at that point so it was fine haha !
I never even...
OK so i figured it all out , and had an absolutely perfect first run ( like ever with heatermeater and airburner ! ) , thank you to the person that came up with this and all the details throughout the thread !
Anyone looking to do this , just do it ! i didn't even solder my pieces and it still...
Ok so , i didn't get the cap in yet but just did the first run (with a air burner copper pipe setup ) and that servo performed perfectly even if it did whine half the time . i'm ecstatic !
i'll let you guys know what happens after i get the cap in it !
fyi , my first cook (just 3 racks of...
Ok , i Just got my HeaterMeater assembled and havent' even done the first test . but i like this idea of a Air burner way more then this crappy cat bowl i assembled .
A few questions , Can someone give more detail on what they use though the vents ? seems to be 3/4" to 1 inch ? then attached to...
will that fit in the standard 3d printed damper case from the heatermeater store , Plug and play , no other modifications ? if so i'll buy it now lol .
well any i salvage barely have any leads left on them , i think i may just order up some flux and a cap set to have around . and solder it like WBegg
I want to understand how this works though , from what i'm thinking putting in between the 5v and ground , causes it to drain any electricity...
Thanks , i'll go salvage some old electronics and find one ! If this works its great ! and prob should be added to the wiki for troubleshooting servo issues ! I'm planning my first go at using it this weekend (ribs)
Yeh i think it's binding i may try using a capacitor. got any more explination on using that on wires to servo? Can it cause any damage to heater meter. Could you better explain the type and where to connect?
Also Shorter cat 5 cord didn't help and my spare servo doesn't work at all doa :(...
Once this is nailed down , it would be fantastic if this could be offered as a kit and pre soldered on the store (with appropriate mods to the Heatermeater board also as a option and extra fee )
I just dont' have the equipment or skills (dont' have a steady hand ) to do SMD level soldering
I'll confirm the one i just put together (i got presoldered) Works fantastically so far (just testing ) Used a Pie 3 b+ , and it "just works" , got the RotoDampv3 preprinted also .
ok so its not like "running" when its making that noise , or going to burn up. I just find it odd it kinda stops when i tap it . i'll give my spare servo a go and see if it stops . Thanks !
