    cedar planks

    I seem to have better tasting food using maple and alder planks. Maple seems to last longer being a much harder wood than cedar and even alder. I'm not sure why cedar planks got used for cooking when it can be toxic for some people. Aloha, Greg

    Thank you Kevin. It looks good! We just prefer a little less salt in our diet. I guess we must accidentlly swallow enough sea water at the beach so our sodium intake is fine. Aloha, Greg

    I used 3 different rubs for my butts because I didn't have enough of one type. It came out so good. That's now my recipe. aloha! Greg

    What's the coldest (outside temp) you've ever cooked?

    Lowest temp was 62 degrees couple weeks ago at night. I was doing 2 pork butts. Came out really good! Aloha, Greg
