It's using the design my girlfriend came up with called the "ring of air". It was so efficient, we cooked the butt for 10 hours today. It could have cooked for another 8 hours easy on a full charcoal ring in 18" WSM.

I have version HM 4.2 and I am using a fan only setup on a weber smokey mountain 18 with the stock fan. It holds temp pretty close to the set point, but I see a lot of others graphs where the fan doesn't come close to 100%. Settings here were b=0, p=10, i=0.05, d=10
