How does one remove the old black paint on the firebox and endcaps

Looks more than adequate, now get some 2000 degree primer and follow the instructions on the can and use a good at least 900 caliper paint. I used the 2000 primer and paint. Turned out fine and holding up just fine.

    Lame skirt steak

I love this cut! Don't feel bad, a few days ago I assembled 4 pizzas which I photographed before hitting the grill. My intention was to get a shot of the finished pies and then post here but I got distracted and folks started cutting while I was still cooking. So all I have is the raw shot!

    Refrigerator help

Painful reading this thread, sorry you or anyone has to go through this. They're made more energy efficient and with more whistles and bells but wind up at the scrapyard in 5 years. We have to remodel our kitchen, no more putting it off (been for 20 years), so I'm in the market for a new fridge...

Yes, great paint, I used that on my Q and it's holding up perfectly.

How does one remove the old black paint on the firebox and endcaps

I used a grinder with a wire brush instead of a grinding wheel. Very aggressive, and will hurt you if not wearing gloves and eye protection.

    Ahi poke and sashimi

That fillet was a few hours out of the water. I was off the coast of the big island. It was roughly 60lbs. The photo below is me and my wife.

    Ahi poke and sashimi

I do raw once in a while, not often at all. That looks good! Here's a photo of one I caught a few weeks ago.

Perfect timing, new to me Q300!

I purchased my 2200 used around 2010 or so and still going strong. Those Qs are tough grills. You'll have that 300 for a long time. Congrats !

New from ThermoWorks: RFX wireless meat probe thermometer

Great company! My go-to company for this kind of stuff. I won't get into it, but let's just say they have treated me with an excellent level of customer service that is rare.
