    2nd Chance for a True Weber Classic: A 1998 1st Generation Summit 450

The biggest problem I see with swapping in the summit IR burner to a genesis grill is that if you fab it into the lid, it needs to account for the lid pivoting on open and close, whereas on the summit, it is mounted on a stationary tall back panel of the Summit cook box. The LX grills I know...

Remove stuck manifold screws Genesis 1000

Yah, seems a bit expensive, but you for one time keeper, a good deal IMO.

    2nd Chance for a True Weber Classic: A 1998 1st Generation Summit 450

Josh, I think it would be great to try to incorporate an IR burner into a Genesis grill. I was thinking the Gold and Platinum SS lids would be the best option rather than trying to do it on a porcelain coated lid. Maybe just pull the IR burner out of a Summit and fab it into a Gold B lid.

    Of all the colors........

They certainly used to. I bought a green lid and bowl with the burner tube holes and burner tube included. I got it from a guy selling off some weber stuff he had. It was new in box when I bought it from him.

    Converting ex-335 grill to propane

I just checked FB MP using "Grill" as my search term. This is what showed up. The gas conversion kit is actually an Ebay add (which it seems FB has started hosting). The kit claims to cover every Genesis grill built in the last 30 years. I imagine they have sold a whole lot of them. Notice...

    Weber Parts Deals

IMO, 9mm grates are probably overkill on a flip grill. I personally don't think the average buyer realizes the significance of 7mm vs 9mm. Some, sure, but the average buyer not so much. I have tried a couple times to offer an upgrade (at cost) to 9mm over 7mm and what happened most of the...

Cody's Corner of Random Rehabbing & Shenanigans

The crossmember might be fine. He stated the bolt was the problem. Hopefully it is limited to just the bold and not the frame itself.

I will just leave this here

LOL, I think you will be happy with it. However, it goes a long way, especially if you only use it on a grill or two. Two bottles will last a Loooong time.

I will just leave this here

This stuff works very good at mitigating the "Weber Fade" on the black porcelain on our grills. It doesn't "fix" it, but it essentially hides it. It lasts quite a while too. If you have a grill lid with the fade or a control panel or otherwise and you don't want to have to replace it, this is...

    Curb Alert !!!

Cody, Cut off a short piece of flat stock about 3/4" wide and weld it to the inside edge of the "thinned" bracket. Then just drill through the original hole through the welded on piece and your manifold is good for another 20 years. It doesn't change the size or shape of the manifold at all.
