Weber fade is where the "BLACK" lids get faded areas in them and there is no cure. You can mask it to a degree, but there is no real cure. It affects the other colors very seldom or not at all.
If you are finding good stuff on CL, you must be in a prime area. I picked up at least two dozen grills last summer and don't think I found one off CL. Maybe one, but I don't recall for sure.
It is funny how it seems a lot of new members jump on this forum after finding an old weber to restore and what is interesting is that they often score a very lucky specimen seeming by accident.
You found a classic and one of the coolest gas grills made in that era. It looks complete with the right side condiment basket and all.
If the lid is free of the "Weber Fade" you are blessed.

I agree with Rick about checking the sale sites. A 5lb tank would be nice, they are a lot harder to come by and new they cost more than a 20lb tank. I could certainly unload a tank on you if you happen to have to make a trip up this way.
I do pizzas in my genesis grills. Works great from me. But an upper IR burner would be great and a dedicated fancy pizza oven would be even better.

Those are some awesome prices for meat. I bought a Butterball at $.94/lb yesterday and figured that was good. I was initially looking for a Breast only, but the much lower price with the extra dark meat swung me to the full turkey. I think it was about 15 lbs. It will be the Thanksgiving...
