Do you hear an audible click when you press the ignitor button? Reason I ask is because I had a sticky button causing it not to spark. My problem was resolved by simply loosening the nut on the button shank.

Well, my local Walmart had plenty of quantity on hand, it just wasn't on sale. Fortunately, Home Depot was just down the road and I bought the 2/18.6lb twin-paks at $9.88.

Check your local C/L before shelling out the big bucks. I found an older stainless Performer w/gas ignition in good shape for $30 off C/L. I don't use the gas ignition, but it really doesn't matter for that price.

I don't use gas assist or the baskets. I light the coals in a chimney with newspaper. Then go in the house and prep my meats. When the coals are ready, I spread them out and start cooking.

You didn't mention what its doing, or not doing. I had a sticky ignitor button on mine. It was just screwed on too tight. After loosening it a bit the button popped as it should.

I picked up a SS model for $30 last year. I don't think I could ever get mine that clean though. Good job!

Not sure on the availability/cost of the part. I would start with weber.com. Also, forum member "Kevin L (NKY)" was parting out an old performer. I bought a tank from him. Maybe he can help you out. In any case, I see you're already enjoying the grill. Honestly, I've only used gas ignition...

Yea, check the tank valve first. You should be able to hear gas flow from your tank. If thats not the problem, I would assume the problem is the regulator assembly. Again, make sure the regulator valve is open. See Figure 11 in pic below.

I seem to recall another valve in the gas line? Did you open that one? Nice looking grill. I have a 2000 Performer SS. Enjoy! jasper

Stick with the small tank. I have one on my SS performer as well. If you don't have a station closer, go to Leroy's Auto on 90th Lyndale. They have the adapter for it.
