X000 / Silver B Side Burner Lid Pin Removal?

Is there a way to remove one of these pins and keep it intact?

Not that I know of, they break every time on me. I ended up 3d printing replacements but you should be able to find similar plastic pins at harbor freight or an auto parts store.

I just replace them with a small nut and bolt.

These look similar to the pins used on cars...we have a few of tools like this in the shop and if you massage it right, you can reuse the pins.

Use end nippers take it out and go spend the quarter to replace it, they are cheap!

Use pins it's better. Splurge a little for stainless ones. Using bolts is bad juju. The threads will collect lots of carbon and grease. And then you'll have more trouble than you started with

Problem is with those is the heat cycles. I can get that type of push pin out of cars no problem. On side burners, the head pops off.

The original ones are plastic though.
