WSM with Stoker - no water in pan ??

Welcome Ron B.

After being a member of this Fine Forum for a few months now, I've noticed that it seems to come down to the question of how cold it is outside and how much wind your dealing with. Down here in the swamp it can be well over 90* F so we love the water in the pan. I've noticed a lot of folks debating this question are using their WSM in cooler climates. For the folks that post their locations, you can see a trend. In other words, Are you trying to keep temps higher or lower in your smoker? My (limited) take so far is if it's cold, no water, if it's hot, use water.

Good Luck.
