If you have a problem with an egg, contact the manufacturer. I don't want to speak for them, but the head of R&D for the BGE was at the Eggfest, and several times he told the crowd to contact him, if they had any problems with the product. I dont remember if it was a 10 year warranty on the ceramic, or what, but the gist of his statement was clear; if you have a problem with an egg, contact him, and he will make it right.
He mentioned something to the effect that if you already own an egg, then you are a living walking free advertisment for the Egg, so they like to take care of us.
His name was John. He threw out a very simple email address, which if I remember correctly is john@biggreenegg.com.
I could be wrong on the address, it might be bge.com. Im sure if you google it, you can get it quite simply.
