WSM Dry Run

I am happy to report that my dry run worked out well.

Without water in the water pan I was able to keep the temperature around 250-275 F without a problem.

Tested reaction time to changes in airflow. Despite the initial out of round condition my tweaking seem to have worked to get the WSM pretty airtight. At least as far a I can figure out with my ignorance of the subject matter....
Choking of the fire worked as well.

Unfortunately my first has to wait until the 4th of July weekend. And my inlaws from Germany will be in town for added pressure.....

Btw on July 19th we will have our Naturalization Interview. Hopefully one week later we finally will be able to become citizens of this great nation!

Cheers,

Malte

Jeez,it must have been tuff keeping the coals in there,I mean with it being on it's side and all,or was that just the photogapher and that libation I see on the cart, hmmmmmm. Sounds like ya got it tweeked.

Malte, congrats on your tweaking. If you can keep the cooker that low with no meat, no water, and no seasoning build up....

Congrats on your citizenship, and good luck with the test. On one hand, it would probably be a good thing if passing the test was required before any natural born citizen could vote...

...but anyway, as an immigrant, your opinion of this country and the freedoms that most of us take for granted...

...well, your perspective is unique, so I thank you in advance if you ever have the opportunity to speak up for this great land to someone that doesn't cherish it and appreciate it as they should.
