WSM Cover

I have a question about the cover on WSM's. I inherited my friend's WSM (my 2nd). I brought it to my house to make my mods. I noticed the cover to his is very difficult to put on & get off. It is very tight around the circumference of the WSM. The one I have slips over my WSM very easily (on & off). Do they (or did they) make different sizes of covers (for the original size WSM)? If so, does anyone know if they now sell the larger or the smaller ones?

Kieth,

I have a new model WSM just received in June. The included cover is VERY tight, to the point of being a bother.

I also have a new model I got in January, but my cover slips on and off easily with no hassle at all. I wonder what the difference is?

Apparently the weather shrinks them if they are left outside. I now keep my WSM under a roof and gave up on fighting with the cover. Might order a replacement one of these days.

If they make them of different materials (and I think they do or did) maybe the weather has something to do with it. My first one has been outside since day one and the cover slides on and off with ease. The one I inherited has a different feel to it and is a pain.

This is my only real complaint. My cover is a PITA to get on and off....I figure that they outsource these and that the quality control suffers. I wish they would fix this problem!

Yes the new one's have the elastic on the bottom and are a P.I.T.A to get on(off is not to bad).
I'm not sure why the elastic is there, maybe to keep in tight around the cooker or to **** you off when putting it on.
