WSM cold smoking.

I have seen some good mods for WSM cold smoking. I thinking of using my big and small WSM to make it
work.
Any input is very welcome, please.
Thank you
Peter

Not sure what exactly you are looking for in your OP, but I use a Smoke Daddy on my WSM18.5, and it's great. Pellets are definitely better then chips for burn time, but reloading isn't a major ordeal. Here's another thread about them that I see has new responses since I stopped following it, but maybe it'll help? ANd seriously, the chimney is awesome!

Thank you. I like the Smoke Daddy idea. I just may have to save up a little and try one. Once gain thank you.

I have to preface my comment with: I've never cold smoked. My comment: I watched the smoke daddy video. That thing pumps out a LOT of thick white smoke. I've always been taught to to cook on a clean burning fire indicated by thin blue smoke (TBS). Is cold smoking different in that respect?

Edit: Have you considerd the "mailbox mod" where a mailbox is ducted into the WSM and an Amazin tube smoker is placed in the mailbox to generate the smoke?

Look into A-Maze-N Products pellet cold smokers. Great buy for the $, EXCELLENT actually. I have the Medium Tube and the 5X8 (If I recall correctly). During cool weather they don't create enough heat to move the temps very much. They run on pellets, for 5 and 11'ish hour respectively. Creosote free, perfect smoke. Here in Sunny AZ, I could keep temps below 70 deg with the highs hovering around the mid 60's. Did a few belly bacons and then fell in love with Canadian Bacon. I'll have to wait for cooler weather to get to cold smoking again.

Thank you for the idea. I just may have to check that out.

I own the Amaze-N-Pellet-Smoker and could not be happier. That model can be used with both dust and pellets.
The only downside is that it cannot be used for hot smoking in most charcoal environments, but we don't really need that, do we?
I highly recommend you email Todd (company owner) prior to purchasing as he will most likely sweeten the deal for you for just contacting him (you can even tell him I sent you).
No, I'm not affiliated in any way...just a happy customer.
A+ customer service and made in the USA.
