Has anyone installed a FireBoard 2 fan on their WSM 22. Tried yesterday and can’t seem to get it flush against the side. I used the extra mounting nozzle adaptor.

I have a Fireboard 2 Drive but I did not go with the new Fireboard drive blower fan. Ball valve adapter just came in, it will not fit the WSM so that is no longer a option

You basically have 2 options.

1. Use the BBQ Guru Pit Viper Fan + BBQ Guru Weber Adapter. This is what I currently use, many other Fireboard users use this setup as well since we previously had a BBQ GURU ATC and no point buying another fan when it is compatible with the Fireboard.

2. Fireboard 1 used the Auber Instruments Blower Fan + Ball Valve Adapter. It even shows on Fireboard website under the "blower fan". For customers interested in the previous 20CFM fan, they are available directly from Auber Instruments. I don't believe the Fireboard 2 fan is compatible with the Auber ball valve adapter since Fireboard states on the website that the ball vavle adapter is "coming soon"

It worked fine for me and I didn’t drill any holes.

Oh, and mine is an 18.5 WSM.
Old post, I realize, but do you still use the FB2 Drive with your WSM? I have a WSM 22 and wanting to adapt my FB 2 Drive to it. Assume you have to remove the adapter completely to cook without the FB, in order to use the daisy wheel? Also, do you somehow block off the remaining daisy wheel hole when you ARE using the FB on a cook, so extra air doesn't come in?
