WOW! ABT's for the First Time

I made ABT's for the very first time Friday night and all I can say is WOW! I cannot believe what I have been missing. We had friends over for snacks and games and I decided to run home from work and see if I could make them. Having never done this before I wasn't sure what to expect. I made the no-meat version-well, except for the bacon of course. My friends were so-so on them but my wife and I loved them. Today at lunch I finished off the last 4 of them. I can't wait to do it again!

Tasty little things, arent they.

What did you stuff them with?
I'm making some this weekend, and after experimenting with filling I have settled on chopped smoked string cheese with chopped dried cherries.
Very, VERY good!

lol...I thought the same thing

I have all the guys in my family making them all the time now. We use horn peppers, jalapenos, actually any kind of pepper we get our hands on. Love em.

I stuffed the Peppers with soft cream cheese blended with Sweat Basil, Cilantro, Parsley, Onion Powder, Garlic, and Stealing from Mike Chavez's recipe I added some honey to balance it out. I used a maple smoked bacon. Very delicious!

I made about 50 last weekend as well for mother's day. Momma loves them... I am a cream cheese guy myself with various mixture of spices.

I will say one thing - the BACON used makes a world of difference. I only use center cut as I find it turns out the best. I also cook them for till the bacon is cripsy (this can take some time)

my family calls them bacon bombs.

Wait, shouldn't he keep those friends so there are more left overs for him?

I wrapped mine with turkey bacon (for the non pork eaters at my house) and I must say it tasted like crap. If it was up to me, I would ban Turkey bacon in the US.
