Looking for some honest opinions here as I'm about to pull the trigger on replacing my 10+ year old Genesis. It still works, and looks OK. I've done an OK job on maintenance, but apparrently I've lost the manual, and it doesn't always light off correctly. I would likely sell it for cheap to any one in the St. Louis area if they were interested. Burners were replaced about 2 years ago and the grill hasn't been used much since then. It has the stainless grates, and newer flavorizer bars as well.
Last summer, I was about to buy a really fancy gas grill with a rotisserie and all that. A Weber Summit, or the Napoleon equivalent. Then my fun budget got spent on other stuff. Now, my fun budget is back, and I can buy something. I thought about buying a Searwood... lots of positive reviews, but not perfect either. I don't want to have a plug in grill, I don't want another thing on wifi, and most importantly wifey does not like smokey food ALL THE TIME, so I think pellet poopers are out. I'm also looking for something that Wifey might not be afraid to use (aka very clean and simple like our kitchen stove).
I don't think I'd really use a rotisserie feature that often, and I almost never cook for more than 8 people, so I don't think upgrading all the way to a Summit or equivalent makes sense. I like the 4 burner Genesis I'm showing below in photo 2 because I've used one once, and I know it does a great job on steaks, and because my fam really digs smash burgers so the griddle option is very appealing, along with the expanded storage cabinet to store the griddle when it's not in use.
So does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the new genesis for weeknight easy grilling and smashburgers? Is there another reputable brand I should be considering?
Here's my old grill

Here's what I might buy (maybe without the side burner and smart grill feature)
