I have been buying split logs from a local fireplace wood supplier and cutting them and splitting them into smaller pieces. Mostly Oak and Cherry. I've had a couple bad smokes lately. I think a few of them are the result of too much wood. I also suspect some of the pieces may not be the best quality.

In short, I'm thinking about ordering some chunk wood and would like to know which source you guys and gals think is the best.

Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon:
There are literally hundreds of wood suppliers and most a lot closer to you but I have found that I consistently receive top quality wood and charwood from a Rhode Island company entitled Peoples Woods ( http://www.peopleswoods.com/ ). I have used the majority of their offerings and as of yet have always been extremely pleased with their products. If for no other reason but a price gauge for good woods, you might want to check them out. Good luck and happy smoking!

I have listed a couple of firms on the All About Smoke Woods page that I've had good experiences doing business with. It is not meant to be a comprehensive list; I'm sure there are many more reputable firms out there.

Another decent, consistant source is Ma's Smokin Chips...
we do not have the rounds...but we have chunks and they are fresh...
we chip and ship. We don't store more than 100lbs of wood weekly...
