Wood chunks in Houston

Times are bad, it would seem. All my usual places for buying wood chunks have gone out of business ... don't answer their phone ... and ... if I do find someplace that sells wood chunks ... its only Hickory and Mesquite. Don't need that.

I am looking for Oak, Apple, and Cherry wood chunks in the Houston, TX area. Does anyone know of any places close by that sells it?

Thanks!

The new huge HEB at I-10 and Bunker Hill has some of those in chunk form I believe.

I know for a fact they have hickory, mesquite and pecan, and all varietals of chips, but they had a big selection, may be worth a call or visit if you're close.

Thanks Mike!

I checked their website and it appears it hasn't been updated since 1999. Some of the links are dead as well. Ennis, TX is about 4 hours away anyway so I may have to turn to the internet to get my wood. I am surprised there is nothing local.

Thanks again for your suggestion.

Jason,

Thanks for the information. I will check out HEB.

Yes. I can get CHIPS at my local Wal-Mart and other stores in just about any flavor. The problem is I want CHUNKS in Apple, Oak, and Cherry. Good luck on that. You are right. Mesquite, Hickory, and Pecan are abundant no matter where one goes.

Thanks again!
