Just got my WSM a few weeks ago and have had great luck. Did a brisket last week-end that was just great. Now I need to find a reliable source for reasonably priced wood chunks in the SF Bay Area. Especially interested in pecan. I've look at ordering on line but the shipping costs are a killer.

Jim,

About the only source I've found is Barbecues Galore. They sell bags of chunks for about $7. They carry oak, hickory, apple, cherry, alder, pecan, and mesquite. They have a store on El Camino Real in Palo Alto near Stanford U. Of course, you an always find Weber mesquite and hickory chunks at stores that carry Weber products, like Home Depot and Orchard Supply Hardware.

You can also try Lazzari Fuel Company in Brisbane near Candlestick Park. They sell almond, apple, mesquite, oak and walnut in 50 lb bags. Their website is http://www.lazzarifuelcompany.com

Otherwise, you're stuck with finding a local firewood seller or tree trimmer.

Regards,
Chris

Well than I am off to Barbecues Galore for this week-ends needs and I will get by Lazzari Fuel Company sometime soon.

Thanks for the tips!
