Without middle section

Does anybody know if the lid of a would WSM fit directly onto the bottom section nicely...kind of like a Smokey Joe?

Look in the WSM Modifications section, John. Not only do they describe it, but there's some options for adding guides to keep the lid in place. Will be my next mod.

Better yet just use the lid from a 22.5 kettle and bale like I did. That is unless you really need the extra height.
