On two separate occasions of either setting up or removing my HM and fan from my cooker I've ripped out each of the wires from the side of the fan (I don't leave the HM and fan outside when not in use). I've had to resolder the tiny little wires each time.
I then noticed a small "slot" on the fan case where I assume the wires should be held. Perhaps that will relieve stress on the solder pads. However, I'm wondering if anyone else has had the connections at the fan pull away?
Does anyone have an ingenious ideas on how to make that connection a less fragile, other than not to manhandle it? I've thought of putting in a quick connect of some sort about an inch away from the fan as one possibility and only connect/disconnect to the HM when everything is setup and ready to go.
