Wings on the "new" Red

I just got this awesome Red Performer last night (see Charcoal Grill forum for the story). On my deck for now until I set up the patio.

Of course I had to break it in today. With all of the great chicken posts this weekend I had a taste for chicken. So we went with some wings. Started by marinating in Newman's Cranberry Walnut dressing.

After marinating for about 90 minutes they hit the grill direct with some sweet peppers. I got as little choked up as the first wing hit the grate.

Had to play with the wings a litte to keep them from burning which was fine since I have that handy lid holder now. Here they are almost done.

Decided against saucing on the grill first time out. It looks so shiny and nice now. So half the wings got tossed with a honey/bbq sauce mixture and half with a sriracha wing sauce. If you like sriracha, you should try this recipe. It's fantastic!

So here's the plate. Simple. Wings, peppers and a ceasar salad.

In closing, great dinner and I love my new grill. I'll probably take the day off tomorrow so I can fire it up again for lunch and dinner. Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Simply Awesome!

I know what you mean, Mike. Once you get a grill all cleaned up & shiny you don't want to gunk it up the first time you cook on it.

Nice grill, too. Cleaned up very well. If you put your "new" Red SS Performer together with my "new" green SS Performer, we would have the Christmas grill twins. LOL!

Jim - We should trade lids at Christmas time!

This! +1

That's an awful looking grill. Please ship it to me so I can hide it from sight on top of my deck. Nice first cook!
