Where to buy Pecan

Anyone have a good source for Pecan chunks? I contacted Smokinlicious today and they won't be carrying any. I'm looking for chunks similar to Smokinglicious' single filet.

Chris feel free to relocate this post if you feel another area would be more appropriate.

Go to Amazon and search for "Weber pecan" and you will see the ones that Weber packages and sells.

Probably worth asking for at any place that sells Weber products. I got some at Wal-Mart where they were a special order.

Have you tried E-bay? I bought both Peach and Apple wood that way and I paid just about $5 over the shipping charges. I noticed that there are a lot of postings for Pecan wood in the Phoenix CL.

What part of California are you? Hate to toot my own horn but we carry them.

Or look for any Weber dealer in your local area that carries their wood chunks...that's what we have.

I bought a variety of chips and chunks from Chigger Creek products. You can google them. High quality stuff, beautiful pieces, no gunk stuck to them, they have all types of wood.

I have used Fruita Wood. Excellent wood and service.

I miss living in Georgia. I would get my pecan from my back yard.

I don't know about y'all, but all the meat markets around here carry a pretty good variety of wood. Hickory, apple, and pecan are mainstays, but we get peach, pear and maple in on occasion too.

I got a piece of oak trunk from a neighbor who had a tree removed. I could probably get apple if I watched for it.

I've often wondered if there would be interest in a wood exchange. The biggest problem I think would be shipping because I think the regular vendors can get better shipping rates than an individual.

Some good information in this thread.

Academy Sports carries a lot of BBQ items. I was in one yesterday and saw bags of Oak and Pecan chunks, in addition to the regular Hickory and Mesquite.

They not only had chunks but bags of small logs.
