What's up all

From EDH Cali. For the last few months I've been becoming more interested or obsessed in bbq'n and smoking and just found this site. I've had my gasser Genesis Platinum for 10 years now and a modded electric original Bradley. After doing my first smoked pulled pork with my gasser this past weekend, I am now looking at trying my hand at charcoal. So now I'm searching CL for a good but cheap kettle. Don't want to pay for a new one since I don't really know how much I'll like it. BTW, it was a 9 lb pork shoulder with about a 15 hour cook with 5 hours alder smoke. Turned out great. I'll be lookin for help and guidance when I get the kettle.

Welcome to the site Nate. I think once you get your kettle the gas grill won't see much action.

The gasser would probably be my weeknight quick grill. We usually cook on the grill 6 days out of the week especially in the summer heat. Don't want to heat up the house with the oven or cook top. It's a convenience thing. The kettle will be weekend or vacations when I have more time. I'm itchin to try my hand at charcoal.

Another crazy kalifornian, just what this place needs, lol

Giants fan, right....?

Welcome Nate. It really doesn't take much longer to get the kettle going on a weeknight than it does to get the gasser hot. Start the chimney, go in to prep dinner and it's ready to go. My gasser is a decoration now.
